VIETNAM ATTRACTIONS - Mekong Delta Vietnam

The Mekong River is among the biggest rivers in the World, starting its nearly 5,000km course from the Tibetan Plateau traveling its way through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The Mekong River discharges its water into the East Vietnam Sea in southern Vietnam via its nine major tributaries. For this reason, the local people call it the Cuu Long River (or the River of Nine Dragons) and the Delta created by sediments of the Mekong's tributaries is called Dong Bang Song Cuu Long – The Mekong Delta.
Floating Market on Mekong River in Vietnam: Because of the system of rivers, canals, arroyos and creeks, it's more convenient to travel by waterway than by road: people have gatherings for trade here and there and for many years, floating markets have been something special of the Mekong Delta for the travellers.
The Mekong Delta of Vietnam is the vast region of low-lying land stretching from south-west of Ho Chi Minh City to the cape of Ca Mau and the beach of Ha Tien in Rach Gia Gulf. The Mekong Delta area includes the provinces of Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau. Some areas are seasonally flooded and some are permanently under water. There are some low mountains in the area, but most of the region is flat and of fertile land.

Traveling in the Mekong Delta, it's never difficult to get juicy fresh fruits
The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam has a tropical climate with 2 seasons a year: the rainy season from May to November and the dry season from December to April. In the dry season, there may be winter monsoon bringing the chill from the North and Central Region of Vietnam to the area, which makes the air pleasant.
The Mekong Delta is inhabited by mostly the Kinh People and the Khmer People. There are small Hoa communities (Chinese) and Cham communities in the area, also. This helps to shape up the colorful culture of the region.
Due to the crisscrossing systems of rivers, canals and creeks, daily activities and transportation in the region are mostly by waterways. Because of this, the life style in the Mekong Delta has always been as exotic as ever before.
The economy in the Mekong Delta has always been related to agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture and recently to tourism. The Mekong Delta accounts for major amount of rice production in Vietnam, provides huge and variety number of seasonal fruits in the country and produces most amount of fish, shrimp and seafood exports of Vietnam.
Possessing the colorful culture, beautiful local cuisine, exotic lifestyle, myriads wetland areas, bird parks and national parks, Mekong Delta offers great travel experiences to the visitors. Due to lack of good tourist infrastructure, most of those who make their trips here are adventure travellers. Most people would make their day trips or 2 or 3 day tours from Sai Gon, leaving major area of the Mekong Delta rarely visited.
Night markets in Mekong Delta Vietnam is more interesting than any others in Vietnam offering anything from fresh fruits, cold drinks and hot cuisine...all are right on the streets!

Halong Bay Vietnam : Imagine 199 or more islands rising from the emerald waters of the Gulf  of Tonkin and you have a vision of breataking beauty. Halong translates as “ where the dragon descends into the sea”, and legend claims the islands of Halong bay were created by a great dragon from the mountains. As it charged towards the coast, its flailing tail gouged out valleys and crevasses. When  it finally plunged into the sea, the area filled with water, leaving only the pinnacles visible.
Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, this mystical landcape of limestone islets is often compared to Guilin in China or Krabi in southern Thailand. In reality, Halong Bay is more spectacular. The bay’s immense number of islands are dotted with wind and wave-eroded grottoes, and their sparsely for ested slopes ring with birdsong.
Beyond a boat cruise, visitors to Halong also come to explore the caves . theere are few real beaches in Halong bay, but Lan Ha Bay has idyllic sandy cives a chort boat hop from Cat Ba town. Read More..,
Sapa - Lao Cai Province - Vietnam Located 38km from Lao Cai City, Sapa is a mountainous district of Lao Cai Province. Sapa District is very well-known with Sapa Townlet, a beautiful and romantic resort.
At the height of 1,600m above sea level, the average temperature of the area is 15-18°C. It is cool in summer and cold in winter.
Visitor to Sapa in summer can feel the climate of four seasons in one day. In the morning and afternoon, it is cool like the weather of spring and autumn. At noon, it is as sunny and cloudless as the weather of summer. And it is cold in the evening. With no advance warning of a thunderstorm short and heavy rains may come at noon on any summer day. Subsequently, a rainbow appears, transforming Sapa into a magic land, which for years has been a constant source of poetic inspiration, lights up the whole region Read More...,
